Someone sneaked past security and took a picture of something called Avatar Kinect, a system for XBox Live avatar interaction in a separate “chat room” where players talk to each other outside of the games. Considering the 3D scanning capabilities of the Kinect, it’s a pretty cool idea.
The feature should roll out with the next XBox update and will add some cool, stand-up interaction to the traditional headset and webcam communications model currently employed by XBox Live. My concern? Do I really want to see my friends dressed up in gaucho hats and zombie masks and then discuss the days events? Have we learned nothing from Second Life?
