Heathrow have iPhone apps which provide detailed navigation information, they sound like an overkill unless you want to explore all minute details of an airport. The simplest app would be to detect your current location and help find your way to the destination. I recently came across
CPH Airport, an app that helps passengers with iPhones to navigate the terminal more efficiently with real-time access to information on Copenhagen airport services.
The Copenhagen airport team explains this app uses the airport’s finely meshed Wi-Fi infrastructure to provide as precise positioning as GPS indoors, therefore it does not suffer from GPS’ biggest limitation of not being able to penetrate concrete structures.
