Stiktu is a whole new way of using augmented reality to be creative and express yourself on top of objects in the real world. It's the app to leave your mark, share your favorite things, rate items you like and speak your mind.
With Stiktu, you can add text, images, stickers and sketches to objects around you by scanning them with your phone. Then anyone who scans that item will see your post directly on top of it, no matter where they are in the world. It works great with flat, well-lit items like posters, magazines and product packaging.

(via YouTube by aerieplanet)Faerie Planet is a fun Augmented Reality app that lets players aged 4 and over find, friend and collect faeries.
In Faerie Planet, players use the phone's camera to spot faerie orbs, little clouds of magic dust left by faeries as they fly around. A full faerie-o-meter on the phone indicates a faerie is within reach. Players use the virtual net to catch their faerie and bring her inside their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, or they can set her free and find more to collect. Finding and catching faeries becomes more difficult as the game progresses.
Faerie Planet includes Mysties, a special misty-screen faerie messaging system. Tapping on the Mystie icon enables users to draw or write a message that a faerie will send to friends in their address book. By finding faeries and adding friends to Faerie Planet, players earn faerie gold, which enables them to send and receive more Mysties.

(via YouTube by uroRSCGExperience )In order to make the "Move to the beat" campaign a reality, Euro RSCG Experience created an augmented reality-stand in some of the biggest movie theaters of Belgium. Wherever the animation was exposed, people rushed to the animation in order to live their own augmented-reality experience.
Thanks to technical equipement, they were able to picture themselves on a giant screen surrounded by virtual characters.
No matter the age or gender of the person, everyone was amazed by the spectacular effect of the augmented reality technology.

He is a senior research fellow in Astronomy at the University of Exeter. As part of his work there he is building a distributed peer-to-peer network of telescopes which, acting autonomously, will reactively schedule observations of time-critical events. Notable successes include contributing to the detection of the most distant object yet discovered, a gamma-ray burster at a redshift of 8.2. Alasdair also runs a small technology consulting business writing bespoke software, building open hardware and providing training. He sporadically writes blog posts about things that interest him, or more frequently provides commentary about them in 140 characters or less.

Some of London’s most famous landmarks have been given a starring role in a new campaign to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Universal Pictures (UK).
The film giant has teamed up with Aurasma to create a range of 15 ‘Augmented Reality’ DVD and Blu-rays which go on sale from Monday 23rd April.
Each film features a special sleeve which bursts into life when users of the Universal 100 app – available for iOS and Android users – point their device at the sleeve.
To mark the range’s launch some of Universal’s most iconic characters can also be seen flying, climbing and roaring around three London landmarks by using the map built into the app and pointing the device in the right direction.
Fans of Back to the Future can witness the time-travelling DeLorean soar overhead by pointing their device at Big Ben from Westminster Bridge.

Digital technology is making increasingly frequent appearances in offline retail environments. Those installations — think TopShop’s augmented reality fitting room in Moscow, PayPal’s “mobile shopping walls” in Singapore and Sephora’s iPad-enhanced makeup counters in the U.S. — tend to be fun and interactive, drawing in shoppers through novelty of experience.
This week, we spoke with Perch Interactive, a four-person firm developing a new kind of interactive projection display for retail environments. The “Perch display” uses projected light and motion sensors to enhance products positioned on tabletop counters. It can sense when and where a product — or the area around a product — is touched, and when it is picked up.

All this to hunt for virtual chocolates. The winners of this life intruding game won a trip to New York City.
The game was made as a promotion for a new Magnum ice cream.
As we were invited to check things out, we give you a glimpse of all the chocolate hunting people in the shopping streets (Negen Straatjes) in Amsterdam.
