This video shows some of the research that we did at the University of Central Florida's Media Convergence Lab. This video is from content developed between 2001 and 2005.

The Lego store on Ströget, Copenhagen, Denmark has a very cool augmented reality feature where you hold up a Lego product in front of a mirror screen and you see a 3d image of the product with animated action scenes and yourself as you hold it. As you spin it, the image spins as well.

ISMAR 2012, the premier international conference on research into the science, technology, applications and uses of Mixed and Augmented Reality, invites you to join us from November 5-8th 2012 in Atlanta, GA, USA!

The conference will take place at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Mixed Reality (MR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are of increasing interest to academic, corporate and consumer audiences.  The proliferation of powerful mobile hardware has, on one hand, opened up new avenues of research and inquiry; on the other hand, corporate and consumer applications have become possible on a wide scale. Across this spectrum, fascinating new types of user interfaces, technologies, and concepts are beginning to emerge. The field is highly interdisciplinary, bringing together technologists, educators, humanists, artists and social scientists, among others.  Since 1998, ISMAR and its forerunner events, IWAR/ISAR and ISMR, have been the premier forums in this vital field.

The fields of Mixed Reality (MR) and Augmented Reality (AR) seek to interactively mix virtual media with a person’s perception of the physical world around them. Whether interactively combining physical and virtual objects and environments in 3D, or reacting to location or other aspects of a users context, these paradigms enable fascinating new types of user interfaces, and are beginning to show significant impact on industry and society. The field is highly interdisciplinary, and MR/AR concepts are applicable to a wide range of applications. Since 1998, ISMAR and its forerunner events, IWAR/ISAR and ISMR, have been the premier forums in this vital field.

At first I was not sure what the use would be but then I realized it would let you do cool things like build out a augmented reality of your favorite places, restaurants, and dive bars to browse through and share with friends. Evernote users are also able to sync their notes directly with myWorld for extra details.

Ihr wolltet schon immer mal sehen was die Dame im Modemagazin für Unterwäsche trägt? Vuforia by Qualcomm zeigte auf dem Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona eine Demonstration von Augmented Reality und einem Modemagazin. Dort kann man sich im Heft die Models angezogen anschauen, mit dem Smartphone kann man sich einfach mal die Unterwäsche anschauen.
