KLIK is a camera app that uses face recognition to let you quickly tag your friends in real-time.
* Note: KLIK requires a Facebook account, and iOS 4.3 or above.
Fire up KLIK and watch as your friends' names instantly appear next to their faces before or after you snap a photo. If KLIK doesn't recognize a face - snap a photo, tap "Tag Me" over unrecognized faces to pick a name, and then save the photo (no need to share). The more photos you save, the better KLIK gets.
When you're not taking photos, check out the feeds for nearby, friend and your photos.
We still have lots of work getting this app to work just right, and we'd love to get your feedback at http://klik.me/support
----
I never forget a face. Neither, apparently, does my iPhone. KLIK, the exciting new app from Face.com, can automatically recognize faces through the smart phone’s camera.Just open the app, take a photo, and KLIK will search through previous pics to correctly tag the face(s). If linked to a Facebook account KLIK becomes even more powerful, correctly identifying friends based on their shared photos. KLIK is so fast that, with a good internet connection, it can accurately identify someone before a picture is taken. Not only that, but it’s absolutely free!
After downloading the app on an iPhone 3S and testing it for several days, this writer is amazed at how quick and accurate KLIK can be…when it works. There are definite bugs to be worked out of the system. Still, Face.com’s foray into mobile facial recognition for social media is stunning when it succeeds, and its launch hints at the absurd power this technology will have in the very near future.
As Singularity Hub has discussed in the past,Face.com is a well known innovator when it comes to facial recognition. They are one of the leading sources (if not THE source) of facial recognition on Facebook, and their API allows for a wide range of applications. Automatic tagging of photos, locating faces for photo manipulation, even characterizing faces by their apparent emotions – Face.com can do it all, and it can do it very well. So well, in fact, that their technology has been used to help identify ‘anonymous’ looters from the most recent London riots. While Face.com technology isn’t fool proof when transforming blurry surveillance footage into quality court room evidence, it is remarkably powerful when dealing with the high quality pics taken by smart phones.

Many of us can clearly recall back to the wintery days at school when arts and crafts was our teachers’ strategy of keeping our mouths shut and our hands busy. Equipped with safety-tipped scissors and construction paper, our teachers taught us the skill of carving rudimentary shapes out of folded paper. While the tedious task of cutting triangles and circles did not wow us into an awestruck wonder, the true magic and beauty of the task was reserved for the unveiling of the unique masterpiece folded within.
As many of us can remember, one of the best parts of arts and crafts was having your hard work on display to share with your friends and family. That being said FotoFlake.it has its own gallery with a rating system where others are encouraged to view and rate the creative work of others, while also providing a simple way to share your design with a photo post on facebook, twitter or email. So whether you’re 8 or your 68, FotoFlake.it will help you make it. Cut, Unfold, Name and Save it. Just join in and you will see, a FotoFlake.it master you will be!

From January 7th to the 14th, a Ukrainian TV station launched a new promotion "A Happy New Year Ukraine" in public locations throughout 3 different cities in order to familiarize with their audience and potential viewers.
1+1 Concept installed animated promos in the cities shopping malls; cheery playful snowmen taking part in holiday festivities and games. All of the chosen images were viewed on plasma screens where shoppers could not only watch but physically interact.
Whether it was drawing on the screen, racing to catch fish, or decorating a Christmas tree, all shoppers took home a complementary photo and a memorable virtual experience of the Augmented Reality snowmen display.

(via YouTube by PaOLaOterO )Paola Otero, DESIGN A VIRUS INSTEAD OF A SPACE, January 2012
Generate Architecture by designing a virus which will create mutations on a given space. The space, once infected, will experience mutations, creating a different quality of space as they occur. Architects often dismissed the analysis process of a concept, taking into account only the final result, which in this case is not relevant anymore since it holds the same value as any other intermediate stage of the mutated space
The installation has the intention to let the audience experience the virus while it is in the process of infecting the space, and not just the final result. This is achieve by using augmented reality. A trackable has being set in a room representing the original space before the infection, and through the tablet we can see how as the space is infected it starts to change, demonstrating a sequence of results that won't end until the infection is over.
