What is Layar?
Layar is a free to use Augmented Reality application for iPhone and Android smart phones. When Layar is activated and you point your phone in any direction Layar will use your camera feed to display layer specific information via a transparent filter.
How does the Holland-Layer work?
The Layar application has many different layers to choose from. NBTC provides the Holland-layer, which enables you to display interesting touristic information in the area around you. For example, if you are standing on the Museumplein in Amsterdam and activate the Holland-layer, youll be able to access all the information on attractions and museums nearby and it will even point you in the right direction.
Why a Holland-layer?
More and more people use their smart phones to access the internet and to find touristic information. Using the Holland-layer makes finding this information easy and fun. As a visitor to Holland youll have access to all the relevant touristic information and explore the country in a whole new way.
The information which is displayed comes from our Holland database which contains about 17.000 different points of interest of which the most important ones are available in nine different languages.

It'll also give you insightful tips and tools including videos, a repayment calculator and property hotspots.
