Alzheimer and dementia are two serious diseases that affect older people worldwide. While these disease are still Waiting for a cure, an Australian company is using augmented reality to make the daily life of patients more enjoyable patients. We tell you all about this project. The Forest Project uses the Unreal Engine 4 which includes a Smart TV and Microsoft Kinect 2 to create an immersive experience of virtual worlds. In addition to helping patients, technology is also being used to improve the overall care of patients by providing support teams with a simulation environment to better understand how their patients see the world around them. This week, developers are giving a lecture during which they will present in detail the project. They choose eleven different pieces of art from the Klee exhibition to enhance with color and animation, with the goal being that visitors should experience something entirely new while visiting the exhibition and still being able to appreciate the original artwork.

2020年の東京オリンピックで、多くの人が国内外から訪れることが想定される中、スマートな道案内をいかに実現すべきか、という観点が掲げられる今回の実験は、渋谷マークシティおよび渋谷駅の地下エリア(地下3~1F)にBluetoothのタグ(発信器、63カ所)や、ARマーカー(45カ所)を設置し、そこから発信される電波、あるいはARマーカーを読み取って得たデータを元に現在地を割り出して、目的地までの道のりを案内する。Bluetoothでの案内機能が利用できる機種(動作確認機種)は、iPhoneのみ(iPhone 5/5s、iOS 7以降)。技術的にはAndroidでもBluetoothでの利用は可能だが、現時点でのAndroidアプリはARマーカーのみサポートする。

Upon arriving at another user’s device, this message will recreate the odor for for the recipient to smell. It seems that Chinese manufacturer OPPO is really trying to build up the hype around its upcoming Find 7 smartphone. This close to the scheduled unveiling, the company has started sending out invitations to Chinese media and bloggers that isn't what you'd call conventional. OPPO is hardly the first one to send out an unorthodox format for an invitation, and it's unlikely that it will be the last. Rival manufacturer Vivo also played up its XPlay 3S event by utilizing a bit of Augmented Reality (AR) in their invitation.
