After installing the app, kids take the smart phone or tablet and face it to the book. The picture on the screen jumps off and is in 3D.     サムソンも研究開発を進めているコンタクトレンズ型の拡張現実デバイス。プライバシーの問題は別としても、このような技術が実用化されることは、素晴らしい。特に医療分野での利用に期待できる。


    For those who find Google Glass indiscreet, electronic contact lenses that outfit the user’s cornea with a display may one day provide an alternative. Built by researchers at several institutions, including two research arms of Samsung, the lenses use new nanomaterials to solve some of the problems that have made contact-lens displays less than practical.

    A group led by Jang-Ung Park, a chemical engineer at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, mounted a light-emitting diode on an off-the-shelf soft contact lens, using a material the researchers developed: a transparent, highly conductive, and stretchy mix of graphene and silver nanowires. The researchers tested these lenses in rabbits—whose eyes are similar in size to humans’—and found no ill effects after five hours. The animals didn’t rub their eyes or grow bloodshot, and the electronics kept working. This work is described online in the journal Nano Letters.

    If you open the hood of the car, parts that are not familiar usually are lined up. I looked for documentation of paper, but it is not found. In such a case, iPad for AR applications that will display a guide to the 3D recognition such as this video is handy.

    Hermaton is an augmented reality exploration game designed as a large scale spatial installation, which follows from our initial architectural prototype for "Grid". Although available at table top versions, the premise of this project lies in its capacity to harness augmented reality as a spatial medium which transcends mere visualisation and enters a dialogue between physical and digital space. The large scale of the installation allows a greater understanding of how augmented reality can affect us at an architectural level and change the way we inhabit and perceive the built environment.
    The project uses a buzz wire maze which people can navigate through in real-time, attempting to interact with the digital objects of the "Hermaton" machine. The design of this environment provides both an interactive and performance space which allows the user to fully immerse in a new augmented physical landscape. 
    The AR system is enlarged to occupy an entire room by covering each wall with trackable markers which can be experienced on both Android and ios devices. The prototype was developed using Vuforia Augmented Reality SDK and Unity3d.
