ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Technology is constantly changing, and this forces existing companies to change with it. It also creates an opening for new companies to come in with new and different ideas. One such company is iQagent, based in Alpharetta. They have created a mobile app that uses technology called “augmented reality” in manufacturing and industrial settings.
Augmented reality is not a new technology. In essence, it is using a live video feed and adding computer-generated images on top of it. A simple example is watching football games on TV. The first down line is yellow on the screen, but different on the field. There are also logos and information on the screen that the players and those in the stadium cannot see. This addition of graphics to a feed is augmented reality.(via http://northatlantabusinesspost.com/stories/New-uses-for-old-technology,709)

Hermaton exhibited at Bosch Shine Arts festival in s’Hertogenbosh showcases the game in a completely new way. In this iteration of the installation, seven giant flowerpots are covered with artwork that trigger different levels of the Hermaton game. Each flowerpot digitally augments into a virtual maze that players get to navigate around and explore new landscapes. Each level can be experienced by finding and switching on the various light-bulbs within this surrealistic maze.

Europac3D Body Scanner from Quodscan3d on Vimeo. This short video explains how Europac3D use the new body scanner, powered by Artec, to capture the 3D human form in only 12 seconds. Only six minutes later, a finished 3D file is processed and ready to 3D print. But the outcome is not just a printed figurine. Europac3D have developed a suite of digital content, using the original 3D scan, which include embedded rotatable files in Facebook, animated dancing to a selection of songs and routines and augmented reality models which can be placed and photographed within the live view window of your iPhone/iPad.

Blue Behold combine interactive video mapping and eye tracking. The spectator walk into a space where his eyes became a way to interact.Created in partnership with the company Suricog, Blue Behold is using a new generation of eye tracking glasses (design by Suricog, winners of the Price Startup Winners Laval Virtual 2014) which are very light and wireless. The glasses are not available for private use, they are a new prototype used only with Blue Behold for now. Suricog's glasses allows to detect in real time the exact 3D position (2mm precision) of the spot where the user is looking at. Using this fantastic technology Blue Behold offers a world between reality and virtuality, where your eyes are the only way to interact and explore the fiction.
The music, composed by the talented Spanish musician Esther García González, envelope you in a magical atmosphere, and sound effects are also generated by your glances.BlueBehold from Karleen on Vimeo.
